Cadillac teases Lyriq electric luxury SUV
MANILA: US automaker Cadillac, a division of GM (General Motors), has put out a new date for the launch of its first-ever electric luxury SUV, the Lyriq.
Due to the pandemic, the global reveal of the Cadillac Lyriq was moved from April 2 to August 6, 2020.
This is a seminal moment for the brand as it signals a shift to include all-electric vehicles that “redefine the boundaries and limits of mobility and connectivity.
The Lyriq is expected to change the way the vehicle interacts with the driver using cutting-edge interface. It is expected be a leap from the all-new Escalade which boasts of having the first curved OLED in the industry, along with having the first AKG studio reference system and Super Cruise.
It will be the first vehicle to sport the new modular BEV3 (electric vehicle) architecture that supports GM’s Ultium batteries and will be used by a wide range of Cadillac EVs, including the upcoming Celestiq electric luxury sedan.
The Cadillac Lyriq will match up against the Audi e-tron, the Jaguar I-Pace, and the popular Tesla Model X.
