CALAX Silang Aguinaldo Interchange now 56% complete
MANILA: The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is expected to reach a significant milestone this year as the upcoming Silang Aguinaldo Interchange is set to start operating in the latter part of the year. The operational segments of CALAX will be extended from Mamplasan in Laguna to Aguinaldo Highway in Silang in Cavite.

Once completed, the Silang Aguinaldo Interchange will serve as a convenient alternate exit from CALAX for motorists coming from Metro Manila and traveling to Tagaytay City. In a statement, MPCALA Holdings Incorporation (MHI) President and General Manager Raul Ignacio said, “The Silang Aguinaldo Interchange will help decongest the busiest highway in the province of Cavite — the 41-kilometer Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Motorists from Manila going to the famous tourist destinations of Silang and Tagaytay, Cavite will surely benefit from this upcoming project as it offers convenience and shorter travel time.”

The Aguinaldo Highway connects the interchange to the city of Tagaytay, which is 16 kilometers away, in just around 20 minutes.
The CALAX interchanges at Open Canal, Governor's Drive, and Kawit are expected to be completed by 2023. The current operational segment of CALAX covers 14.24 kilometers with interchanges at Greenfield-Mamplasan, Laguna Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay, and Silang East. Once the entire CALAX project is completed, it will be connected to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) in Kawit, Cavite.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is the implementing agency for the 45-kilometer CALAX. MHI, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), is the private proponent.
Aside from CALAX and Cavitex, MPTC also owns the concessions for North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
