CAMPI, TMA Aug. YTD sales breach 304k-unit mark

MANILA: Collective sales of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reached 304,765 units during the first eight months of 2024.

The commercial vehicle segment continues to hold the bulk of overall volume for the two organizations — with 224,438 units (73.64 percent market share) turned over to clients. Such numbers reflect a 9.1-percent-rise over the 205,764 vehicles that were rolled out of dealerships in the previous year.
Meanwhile, models belonging to the passenger car category cooperatively sold 80,327 units, which showed a 14-percent jump over the 70,451 examples handed over to buyers during the same timeline in 2023.

Keeping its commanding lead in terms of Philippine industry vehicle sales volume is Toyota Motor Philippines with 140,654 units, cornering 46.15-percent share of the market. On second place is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation with 58,513 vehicles sold (19.20 percent share).
Taking the third and fourth spots are the local arms of Ford Motor Company and Nissan with 18,961 and 18,270 units retailed (and holding 6.22 and 5.99 percent of the market) respectively.
Suzuki Philippines was at fifth place after selling 13,206 units and cornering 4.33 percent of the market.
Further, Isuzu Philippines ranked sixth as its sales reached a total of 11,180 units — retailing 1,449 in August alone.
Honda Cars Philippines is at seventh place with a 10,281-unit retail output, followed by Hyundai Motor Philippines with 7,683.
SAIC Motor Philippines (distributor of Morris Garages vehicles in the country) is at the ninth spot with 5,496 examples turned over to customers.
Rounding up the Top 10 list is KP Motors Corporation (Ayala-led distributor of Kia models) with its 3,730-unit performance.
