CAMPI-TMA records 166,104 units sold from Jan. to May 2023
MANILA: For the first five months of 2023, the year-to-date sales of the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) increased by over 32%.

Commercial vehicle sales have already reached 124,242 units, a 31.2 percent rise over the 94,727 vehicles supplied to customers during the same period in 2022 (the category will account for approximately three-quarters of all sales during the aforementioned time).
In contrast, the passenger car segment, which controlled the remaining 25.2%, was able to sell 41,862 units through the first five months of the year, an increase of 32.7 percent over the 31,546 units delivered to customers in 2022.

With 11,108 units sold and a 6.69 percent market share, Ford Motor Company Philippines has surpassed Nissan Philippines to take third place, moving up from fourth place (10,808 units sold and a 6.51 percent market share). Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated rounds out the top five spots with 7,340 vehicles sold to consumers and a 4.42 percent market share.
According to CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez: “The growth of new motor vehicle sales in May with nearly 45-percent increase is definitively driven by the high market demand, recording double-digit growths across all segments from the figures last year.”
“The industry also welcomed the country’s sustained economic improvement in major economic sectors, which remain an important factor towards an economic and market conditions that are favorable for the industry and consumers alike”, he added.
