CAMPI-TMA YTD sales in Sep. 2023 show 27% rise

The two groups retailed 38,628 units last month.Based on their consolidated report, the groups sold 314,843 units from January-September this year — which showed a 26.9-percent rise over the 248,154 vehicles delivered to customers during the same period in 2022.
CAMPI president Rommel Gutierrez attributed the growth in vehicle sales to the promotional campaigns and new model launches in August. “We recorded the highest monthly sales performance in September, and we hope that a positive consumer outlook will be sustained in Q4”, he added.
For September 2023 alone, vehicle sales were at 38,628 units — reflecting a 5.2-percent when compared to last August’s 36,714-example tally, and 9.5-percent increase versus September last year’s 35,282-unit performance.
Continuing to spearhead the strong CAMP-TMA sales output was the commercial vehicle segment. As shared in the same report, the groups were able to roll out 234,834 units to buyers last January-September (which is 74.59 percent of the entire automotive year-to-date sales in the country). The said volume is 24.8-percent more in comparison to 188,096 vehicles turned over to clients during the same timeline in the previous year.
The remaining 25.41-percent of the overall vehicle sales as of September 2023 was from the passenger car category. The total sales for the said classification (80,009 units) showed a 33.2-percent growth from the 60,058 vehicles sold in the full nine months of the year.
Toyota Motor Philippines still holds the biggest portion of the local automotive market, retailing 144,232 units and cornering 45.8-percent of the overall vehicle sales in the country.
In second place is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation with 58,065 vehicles sold — taking 18.4 percent share of the market.
Ford Motor Company Philippines continues to secure its third-place position after selling 23,091 units (7.3-percent market share).
Nissan Philippines and Suzuki Philippines were still at fourth and fifth spots delivering 20,037 and 13,490 examples, respectively.
