Cautious If You are a Nissan Owner
MANILA: If yes then read it carefully, the Nissan Philippines Inc.(NPI) has issued a voluntary recall of their old vehicles models which include 2003 to 2008 production units of the Frontier, X-Trail 200, and Patrol. Nissan Teana models produced from 2004 to 2008 are also included. This voluntary recall is all due to faulty passenger airbag inflators from the Japanese auto parts supplier Takata.
The Takata recall was a troublesome affair and not just this, the traces of its pain are still continuing. We remember the Honda recall of many prominent models just two months back in September and because of the same Takata chaos. The entire problem is about defective propellant and inflator which could not deploy properly at the time of crash, resulting into a serious concern.
The owners of affected Nissan vehicles can call the Nissan Customer Assistance Center (NCAC) hotline at (02)4036593 or visit the nearest Nissan dealership to schedule a repair appointment. This appointment will be free of cost and will help you to stay safe. This step of Nissan is indeed appreciated but, we hope that it does not affect its recent launch of Juke in Philippines.
