Changan Auto expands PH lineup with X7 Plus debut

Changan Auto has officially expanded its lineup in the Philippines after introducing the X7 Plus.

Known in the other markets as the Oshan X7 Plus, the seven-seater sport utility vehicle has joined Chinese automotive marque’s five-car lineup in the country made up of Alsvin, CS35 Plus, CS55 Plus, Uni-T, and Uni-K.

According to Inchcape Philippines (the brand’s latest distributor), the Changan X7 Plus is designed to be luxurious and functional.

Exterior

The Changan X7 Plus is 4,730 millimeters (mm) long; 1,870 mm wide; and 1,720 mm tall.

For its exterior, the newly-unveiled model wears a jewel-like pattern on its grille, multi-tier LED headlamps with matrix LED daytime running lights.

Other noticeable features fitted in the vehicle are the sunroof, chrome-plated ornamental exhaust tip, red accents that break the single-tone colorway, and 19-inch air turbine alloy wheels.

Interior

Inside the Changan X7 Plus’ cabin are the multi-tiered dashboard with piano black and brushed metal accents that houses the 12.3-inch infotainment system and seven-inch digital cluster display. It also has plush seats that are electronically adjustable (six-way for the driver, four-way for the front passenger) with a manual heating/cooling system.

The middle and last-row seats offer a generous legroom and flat flooring and can be folded down flat.

Engine

Powering the newly-launched model is a Bluecore 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (maximum output is up to 185 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque) — mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with Tiptronic feature. The powertrain combination— which also has a start-stop technology — comes with three drive modes namely Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Further, the Changan X7 Plus is equipped with hill-hold and hill-descent control, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, smart keyless entry, push start button, and tire pressure monitoring system.

Additionally, the vehicle comes with built-in digital video recorder, reverse camera, and parking sensors, 360-degree panoramic camera with four wide-angle cameras, and a host of advanced driver assist technologies like dynamic radar cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and electronic brakeforce distribution.

The Changan X7 Plus is currently priced at P1.58 million — with a limited-time P80,000 discount for cash buyers.
