Changan PH breaks ground on new nat’l headquarters in Laguna
MANILA: Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) conducted the groundbreaking of its upcoming national headquarters at the Auto Resources Center (ARC) in Calamba City, Laguna last May 17.

A 2,390-square-meter structure of predominantly glass and aluminum will soon rise on ARC's 20-hectare property. The building is meant to symbolize Changan's bid to assert its brand of premium, forward-thinking mobility in the Philippine market.
The entire complex, which will draw inspiration from Changan International Corporation's (CIC) global corporate identity, will house an expansive modern showroom, full-service workshops, offices, and training areas for CMPI's sales, after-sales, customer relations, and marketing staff.
Calamba City Mayor-Elect Hon. Ross Rizal, Laguna Provincial Engineer Pablo Del Mundo, Barangay Chairman Aigrette Lajara, Councilor Rajay Lajara, Metriccon Co, Inc. President Joseph Alarilla, Aura Builders General Manager Engr. Eduardo De Perio Teaño, and the CMPI and Pan Asia Property Management Teams led by President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo took up ceremonial shovels to officially mark the beginning of construction, regarded as CMPI's major leap towards achieving its goal for the future of Philippine mobility.
In a statement, Perez-Agudo said, “The CMPI National Headquarters will be our hub for exponential growth.... We are not only breaking ground for our brand and CMPI, we are also opening new opportunities for the people of Calamba, the neighboring cities and, ultimately, for our industry and our nation.”
The CMPI National Headquarters is set to open in December 2022 and will serve as the central hub for strengthening Changan's presence in the country.
Since its launch in 2020, CMPI has released five Changan models: the Alsvin, the CS35 Plus, the CS75 Plus, the CS95, and the pure-electric Eado EV 460. This year, CMPI unveiled the new CS35 Plus and plans to further expand its lineup of innovative products and services.
In its 160th year as a leading Chinese car manufacturer, CIC proudly holds a spot in the world's top 15 automakers this year, with total sales of 2.3 million units in 2021. It aims to be a dominant player in the new energy vehicle (NEV) and autonomous driving markets by 2025. CIC, which is known for devoting 5% of its yearly sales to R&D, recently announced a $12.55-billion priority investment in NEVs by the end of 2025, with sales projections of 1.5 million electric cars and plug-in hybrids, or approximately 35% of the company's total sales for that year. Changan President Wang Jun stated that the company plans to introduce eight NEV models in the Chinese market in 2022.
