Changan PH launches premium crossovers Uni-T and Uni-K

MANILA: The 2023 Changan Uni-T and Uni-K were unveiled by Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) as a suitable tribute to their accomplishments in 2022 and to bolster their array of crossover vehicles.

The event, which marked the beginning of a fresh and optimistic phase for the brand, was appropriately timed to coincide with the opening of the Changan National Headquarters.

In keeping with its purpose, CMPI unveiled the Changan Uni-T and Uni-K to once again establish a daring new benchmark for lifestyle crossovers that feature Changan's most cutting-edge "Vision V" design language.

The 2023 Changan Uni-T resembles a spaceship on wheels and is designed in accordance with Changan's Vision-V concept. Its remarkable Diamond-shaped borderless front grille gives it its futuristic appearance. The V-shaped rear spoiler merged with its extra-large panoramic glass roof is another distinctive feature. It gives a sporty touch to the exterior, effectively directs airflow, and improves the vehicle's stability at high speeds. It also features a swept-back wing shape.

For the modern driver of today, there is a ton of technology and push-button ease inside. The Auto Parking Assist (APA) technology, which can be enabled to autonomously complete a rear parking maneuver, hands-free, is another distinctive feature of the 2023 Changan Uni-T.

The 2023 Changan Uni-T is powered by Changan’s 1.5-liter Blue Core Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces maximum power of 179ps and strong pulling power of up to 300Nm. Mated to a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) Electronic Shift with Normal, Eco, and Sport drive modes, the Uni-T delivers both excitement and efficiency in everyday driving.

The 2023 Changan Uni-K, on the other hand, is elegance personified with a distinctive design. Yet another chic iteration of Changan's iconic borderless grille uses a Hexagonal Grille Pattern Design, boosted with sporty and eye-catching refinements all around like the Trident Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Starship headlights, Airship-shape rear spoiler, and enormous 21-inch alloy wheels.

The driver is surrounded by user-friendly technology and luxuries in the cockpit, which has been designed to make driving as comfortable and inviting as possible.

The 2023 Changan Uni-K's Electric Tailgate with Induction Sensor makes it simple to load luggage and other trip necessities since it automatically opens the cargo door when it detects a foot under the rear bumper.

When it comes to performance, the 2023 Changan Uni-K generates a breathtaking 232ps of maximum power and 390Nm of torque, thanks to its 2.0-liter Changan Blue Core TGDi engine paired with an eight-speed shift-by-wire automatic transmission system with options for two-wheel drive (2WD), automatic, and four-wheel drive (4WD) lock with an All-Wheel Drive Switch Button that adjust the vehicle’s response to effectively navigate various road conditions.

More remarkable features can be enjoyed in the Uni crossovers. Both boast a premium Sony sound system—six speakers in Uni-T and 12 speakers with subwoofer in Uni-K—for occupants’ listening pleasure.

Hidden door handles add to the streamlined look of both the 2023 Changan Uni-T and Uni-K crossovers, while giving the driver and passengers a more fashionable and exclusive way of entering the vehicles, as the handles automatically pop out when keys are on hand. Voice control can also be activated, which aids in such functions like opening or closing windows, operating the radio and the automatic air conditioner, and making or receiving calls.

Even more remarkable is the Changan Uni crossovers’ safety kit. Their Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) can achieve Level 2 autonomous driving with an abundance of advanced active safety features. Among these are Blind Spot Detection Warning (BSDW) that triggers visual and audio alerts for rear side warning, door opening and lateral warnings; Lane Keeping Assist (LKA); Automated Emergency Braking (AEB); Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Front Collision Warning (FCW); and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Inside the 2023 Changan Uni-K, a new generation technology called smart cockpit consists of a smart quadruple-screen interactive layout of 3+1. The LCD digital instrument cluster comprises three parts: the left section displays tire pressure and door conditions; the middle section shows vehicle speed, augmented reality real-view navigation, multimedia interface and vehicle status; and the right section comprises a digital rear-view mirror, tachometer, and fuel gauge.

A variety of information displayed by the LCD digital instrument cluster ensures that it adequately meets the diverse needs of consumers. In addition, the new intelligent infotainment screen design with ultra-wide angle, high-resolution and adaptive backlight controls effectively prevents eye fatigue while driving.

Now available for indent orders at Changan dealers nationwide, the 2023 Changan Uni-T is priced at P1.679-million and the 2023 Changan Uni-K is priced at P2.719-million.
