Changes inside and out for more athletic Mercedes-Benz E-Class
MANILA: Mercedes-Benz introduced a revitalized, more athletic and more dynamic exterior, revised taillamps and headlamps, bumper and radiator grille, and more technology and comfort on the E-Class.
With expressive dimensions, a sensual and vivid design, as well as long-distance comfort for four passengers, the new E-Class Coupe blends the charm and iconic qualities of a grand tourer with cutting-edge technology.
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain features a rugged exterior design driven by its off-road appeal with a stylish skid plate, radiator grille, black body cladding, and increased height that flaunts a mirror chrome finish.
The thoroughly redesigned Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Sedan and Wagon also include a stunning new design, improved comfort, and enhanced aerodynamics. The redesigned front portion features a larger central air-cooling inlet and it also boasts a unique AMG-specific radiator grille, with a larger central star and vertical slats.
Due to the unique damper and air-spring configuration as well as the Adaptive Damping System, the recently updated three-chamber air suspension blends outstanding AMG driving stability with significantly improved comfort characteristics and superb road noise.
Newly revamped, flatter, all-LED headlamps improve the more streamlined look of the exterior. The signature handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is maintained, and it generates 850Nm of torque and 603hp.
The powertrain in the E 450 4matic and E 450 models have undergone electrification with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine and an integrated starter generator (ISG), a 48-volt onboard electrical system, and an EQ Boost, leading to enhanced efficiency and performance.
Capable of generating 500Nm of torque and 362hp of power, the electrical boost can reach 21hp and as much as 249 Nm of torque to strengthen the athletic appeal of the E 450 models.
Interior features include an innovative and contemporary 12.3-inch dual widescreen display and a newly designed steering with hands-free monitoring and capacitive sensor technology. This feature enables the functionality of semi-autonomous driving when fitted with available driver assistance systems.
The restyled vehicle also provides new wheel, paint, trim, and upholstery options.
The surround-view camera and AMG Drive Unit steering wheel buttons (previously a standard only on E 63 S) are also standard on all 2021 AMG E-Class models.
The cabin experience for the occupants has also been improved through the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system.
User experience is upgraded through the MBUX’s integration of voice control with natural language recognition, learning-capable software, a personalized display, brilliant screens and graphics, and a powerful computer.
The revised E-Class provides the newest generation of Mercedes-Benz driver assistance systems, which offer cooperative reinforcement.
These driver assistance systems include end-of-traffic jam assist that works together with LiveTraffic for response and recognition to slow-moving traffic and traffic jams, stop-and-go traffic for extended restart functionality, and exit warning assist for improved protection when leaving the car.
The revised E-Class Cabriolet offers added luxury features with all-season open-top comfort and driving for four with available Airscarf neck-level heating, Aircap wind-deflector, and sun-reflecting leather.
The restyled Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG E-Class models will be rolled out in US markets by late 2020.
