“This previous year was a challenge for the automotive industry as the competition became tougher with more and more players, especially China brands coming in. We attribute our success last year to the attractive sales and marketing promotions, flexible financing offers extended by our bank partners and the increasing confidence of the market towards our vehicles and aftersales support,” Chery Auto Philippines Managing Director Froilan Dytianquin shared.

The company’s main sales driver for the year was the Chery Tiggo 5, rolling out a total of 1,851 examples to customers during the 12 months of the year — raking in a 169-percent increase year-on-year to 2022. The accomplishment helped the nameplate maintain its number 4 ranking in the subcompact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment with 11-percent market share.

“As we welcome the New Year, Chery Auto Philippines remains confident as it aims to double its sales for this year. This will be triggered by the refreshed and new additions to our vehicle model lineup as well as the new Chery dealerships to rise this year”, Dytianquin added.

To note, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated and Truck Manufacturers Association ended 2023 with a 21.9-percent rise in overall sales last year — breaching their revised target for 2023.
