Chery Auto PH turns 1
MANILA: Last November 27, Chery Auto celebrated the first anniversary of its launch in the Philippine market.
The car manufacturer from China made its way to the country under United Asia Auto Group Inc. (UAAGI). Looking back to its market re-entry last year, UAAGI and Chery Auto Philippines President Rommel Sytin said, "When we were studying the feasibility of bringing in a new car brand to the Philippines and saw the current and the upcoming crossover lineup of Chery in its home and export markets around the world, we knew that the time was ripe for the brand to re-enter the market after the first attempt by a different importer in 2007. The market then wasn't ready to accept new players outside the established brands, but the last 12 years made a big difference and Filipinos are now much more aware of other new brands and their levels of technology and are more open to experiencing them."
Chery's lineup, comprised of the various Tiggo models, varies from subcompact to midsize. All models are designed with ensured comfort, convenience, and safety features. Included in Chery's range are the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8. All models are powered by 1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve EFI VVT Euro 5-compliant engines and automatic transmissions. The vehicles are also equipped with six airbags, front and rear radar-based driving aids, and electronic driver-assist systems. The upscale models in the lineup feature 10-inch UHD touchscreen displays, foot-sensing automatic power tailgates, automatic LED headlamps, LED taillamps, cruise control, Smart Key Entry System, six-way power-adjustable seats, LCD instrument panel, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Pricing starts at P695,000 for the Tiggo 2 up to P1.28 million for the Tiggo 8, with low down payment and low monthly promos for a limited time offer. Tiggo buyers also receive a free three-year preventive maintenance service (PMS) and three years roadside assistance.
In September, Chery had unveiled its latest 100% electric model, the Arrizo 5e sedan.
Each purchased Chery unit is eligible for a 10-year or a one million-kilometer warranty apart from a five-year general vehicle warranty. Another perk that the customers can take advantage of is the EC Mobile Home Service program wherein Chery staffs provide maintenance and repair services without having to go to a service center.
Despite the current pandemic, the company is still making efforts to provide quality service to its customers. Chery recently introduced the Chery Auto PH app that serves as an online showroom where everyone can go over Chery's different vehicle models and their full specifications. Customers can also use the digital platform to schedule appointments for test drive and maintenance and repair services. Spare parts are also available to be purchased through the app. The Chery Auto PH app can be downloaded on the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices. It is expected to be available on the Apple Store within this month.
