Chery Holding Group debuts in latest Fortune Global 500 list

Chery Holding Group Company Limited has made its debut in the 2024 Fortune Global 500 list.

The Anhui-headquartered marque entered the prestigious list, ranking 385th and reaching a revenue of 39.0917 billion (around P2,225 trillion).

In a statement, Chery said that the achievement marks another milestone for China's automotive industry and underscores the brand’s presence and potential on the global stage” as China's top vehicle exporter.

Founded 27 years ago, the brand now has 14.2 million global users and operates in over 80 countries and regions.

The company also noted that from 2021 to 2023, the group's annual sales grew from 962,000, 1.233 million to 1.881 million vehicles, nearly doubling in three year’s time.

Further, Chery cumulatively exported 3.9 million vehicles — allowing it to retain its position as the leading Chinese brand in passenger car exports for 21 consecutive years.

“In 2023, one in every three Chinese passenger cars exported overseas was a Chery. In the first half of 2024, Chery's sales exceeded 1.1 million vehicles, a 48.4 percent year-on-year increase, setting a new historical record. Chery is the only company in the industry to achieve growth in both new energy and fuel vehicles and in both Chinese and international markets,” the marque mentioned.

“With the inaugural inclusion in the Fortune Global 500 as a new starting point, Chery will deepen its globalization strategy, ‘Brand Upward, Market Outward, Technology Forward, and Industry Toward the Entire Value Chain,’ striving to build a world-class brand,” Chery concluded in the press release.

In the Philippines, the brands under the Chery Holding Group include Chery, Jetour, as well as Omoda and Jaecoo.
