Chevrolet Corvette now in the Philippines, will cost Php 8.5 million

MANILA: Thanks to Chevrolet Philippines, the Corvette will now be officially offered in the country for the very first time. The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI), the official Chevrolet distributor in the Philippines, announced that the legendary American sports car is making its official premiere at the Chevrolet Motorama 2018. The event is scheduled to be held from November 22 to 28 at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall.

The Chevrolet Corvette, the first American sports car, was initially introduced by General Motors at the General Motors Motorama exposition in the New York City in 1953. In April 2017, it celebrated its 65th anniversary by introducing the Carbon Fiber 65 in Z06 3LZ and Grand Sport 3LT models.

The Chevrolet’s iconic sports car, the 2018 Corvette draws its power from a 6.2-litre V8 powertrain that yields a maximum of 455 PS of power and a peak torque of 624 Nm. The Philippine-spec Corvette’s engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car is capable of raring from 0 to 100 kmph within four seconds.

The Corvette will be available in one model in the Philippines, with a price tag of Php 8,546,888. If rumours are to be believed, it might very well be the Stingray variant. The seventh generation 2018 Corvette Stingray is the newest iteration that received quite a few revisions concerning its design. It, however, still retains its legendary characteristics, staying true to its roots. Updated and upscaled safety features, accompanied by an improved architecture, aimed towards adding more glory to the world’s longest-running sports car in history.
