Chevrolet Cruze, Orlando, and Sonic recalled for airbag replacement
MANILA: Continuing the Takata airbag campaign in the Philippines, several Chevrolet models have been recalled for the driver side airbag replacement. The Covenant Car Company, Inc. has officially announced that 3,430 units in total are affected and need their driver airbag to be replaced. These affected models include Chevrolet Cruze, Orlando, and Sonic.
TCCCI has recalled the Chevrolet Cruze, Orlando, and Sonic with the below-mentioned production years. We have also mentioned the number of cars that have been affected by the issue.
Chevrolet Cruze:
- 2010 – 1,119 units
- 2011 – 206 units
- 2012 – 789 units
- 2013 – 67 units
Chevrolet Orlando:
- 2011 – 1 unit
- 2012 – 466 units
- 2013 – 75 units
Chevrolet Sonic:
- 2013 – 707 units
TCCCI, the official distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in the Philippines has further cited that the company will issue notification letters to the affected customers soon and call them for the driver airbag replacement.
Note that the replacement will be done at no cost at authorised Chevrolet service centres across the country. Besides the airbag recall, Chevrolet has been quite active lately. The unveiling of new cars like Onix is a clear indication of an interesting future ahead for Chevrolet.
