Chevy Camaro Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Special Edition

MANILA: The American automotive firm has surprisingly come up with an all-new special edition of its well-famed sports car. Our very favorite Chevrolet Camaro has now turned 50 this year. To make this a remarkable year, the firm has introduced a special edition Chevy Camaro, dressed in a new livery. The exclusively designed muscle car has made its appearance along with some significant and noticeable changes. The new paint scheme bestowed upon this muscle car on its Anniversary features a Nightfall Grey Metallic exterior. Apart from the new paint scheme, the minor touch-ups comprise of a refurbished bumper with a little satin chrome accents, orange-colored body stripes, and a body-colored front splitter.

In order to make it a special edition, the firm has described it as the “most epic Camaro” ever created. It appeared with minor tweaks and tune-ups that make it a special edition muscle car and a bit distinct, even from the all-new sixth-generation model. Alongside the sixth-generation models, the American automaker is also working on an upcoming beast, probably named as 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The camouflaged beast was spied while working out in Nurburgring. The firm hasn’t spoken anything about the revealing of this upcoming beast, but we are hoping to see it sometime soon, or it might make its appearance in any Auto Show this year.

Since the inception of Chevrolet Camaro on 26th September 1966, the epic beast has become first love of auto-fanatics. Talking about the Special Edition muscle car, it features uniquely designed 20-inch alloy wheels, refurbished grille, brake calipers with a pinch of orange color and yes, the 50th Anniversary body stripes to give it a special touch. Being an entry-level monster, it is equipped with HID lamps at the front, while the rear feature LED taillights and a trunk-mounted spoiler.

The interior of this special edition model has been kept far away from our reach. The Chevrolet Cars have also been fitted with quality upholstery and here also, they have fitted black leather seats along with suede inserts but clearly refuses to release the glimpses of the interior. The manufacturer has also bestowed the 50th Anniversary badge on wheel caps, steering wheel, instrument panel and seatbacks.

The power of this newly showcased special edition monster comes from a 6.2-litre V8 engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. And, above all, it can also be ordered with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offered as an option. The 6.2-litre engine is tuned to churn out a maximum power  of 455 hp and achieves a peak torque of 617 Nm. The 2017 Special Edition Chevrolet Camaro will be available as a 2LT or 2SS Coupe or as a Convertible. The convertible model has taken its inspiration from the 2016 topless model, which is also about to launch in the fiscal year, 2016.

The 50th Anniversary Edition will be available for sale by the summer and the pricing of the same will be announced nearby its official launch.
