DBM approves P495M budget for NLEX-SLEX Connector Road right-of-way
MANILA: According to the Department of Budget and Management, over P495 million has been allocated for the acquisition of right-of-way for the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project.

Pangandaman expressed her gratitude to the Filipinos who cooperated with the acquisition of right-of-way, noting its importance for the progress of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project.
According to the Department of Budget and Management, the fund would be charged against the program or project under the 2023 budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Pangandaman said that the release of the fund will have a significant contribution to the government’s “Build, Better, More” infrastructure program.
“As we continue the timely release of funds under the 2023 General Appropriations Act, the DBM also ensures that priority projects and programs of the Marcos Jr. administration will be provided with the needed budget at the soonest possible time,” Pangandaman said.
Last month, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan announced that the civil works for the NLEX-SLEX Connector Project is 69% complete, while the acquisition of right-of-way is 94%.
The construction for the NLEX-SLEX Connector Project started in May 2019 and is expected to be completed in December 2023. The NLEX-SLEX Connector is an eight-kilometer, four-lane elevated toll expressway that will extend the NLEX from the end of Segment 10 in C3 Road, Caloocan City to Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa, Manila and connect to the Skyway Stage 3.
Once completed, the NLEX-SLEX Connector will cut travel time between NLEX and SLEX from two hours to just 20 minutes. It is expected to serve 35,000 motorists daily.
The NLEX-SLEX Connector Projects aims to ease the traffic in Metro Manila and contribute to the development of the cities of Manila, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and other neighboring areas.
