DOE issues list of recognized NEV models available in PH
MANILA: The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an updated list of new energy vehicles (EV) recognized by the agency.

The car that made it to the updated list in the 2,001 to 2,650kg category is the BYD Atto3.Per the country's energy bureau, those that made it to the list of cars with a gross weight of less than 2,500 kilograms (kg) for the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) category are the DFSK E5, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro e+, and the Mitsubishi Outlander.
On the other hand, the BYD Tang Dual Hybrid Mode, Jaguar F-Pace P400e, Volvo S90 T8 all-wheel drive (AWD), and the Volvo XC60 T8 AWD, made it to the recognized PHEVs within the 2,500-3,000kg category.
Finally, recognized PHEV weighing above 3,000kg are the BMW XM, Land Rover Range Rover P400e, Volvo XC90 T8 AWD.
Similarly, DOE also released an updated EV list for hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) models. The GWM Haval H6 HEV and Jolion HEV, Honda CR-V e:HEV, Nissan Kicks e-Power, Toyota Corolla Altis HEV, and Toyota Corolla Cross, were those counted for the category for cars weighing under 2,000kg.
Meanwhile, the Lexus UX250h, ES300h, and NX350h; Mazda CX-60 AWD HEV Turbo and its D-Sport counterpart; Toyota Camry, RAV4, Yaris Cross, and Innova Zenix were the cars listed for HEVs within the 2,000-3,000kg category.
Lastly, the Lexus RX350h, LS500h, RX500h; Mazda CX-90 AWD HEV Turbo and its Turbo Exclusive variant; and the Toyota Alphard, made the cut for the recognized HEVs above the 3,000kg category.
For the fully-electric models, DOE revealed that those that made the list for cars weighing under 2,000kg were the Baojun Yep; Bestune NAT EO5; BYD Seagull, Yuanpro, and Dolphin; Changan Eado 460; DFSK Mini EV; Helmarv Mini EV and EV 400; Jetour Ice Cream; Renault Twizy; Tesla Model 3 and Y; as well as the Wuling Bingo, Macaron Mini EV, and Gameboy.
DOE also noted that the list for battery-electric vehicles (BEV) in the 2,001 to 2,650kg category had the models BYD Atto3 and Han; Dongfeng EC36; Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6; Kia EV6; Leapmotor C11; Lexus RZ450e BEV; Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 and EQB 250; Morris Garages ZS EV, MG4, and Marvel R; Nissan Leaf; Smart Automobile; Smart #1 Brabus; Toyota BZ4X; Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4; as well as the Volvo C40 AWD Recharge Twin and XC40 AWD Recharge Twin.
Heavier BEV models included in the updated recognized list were the Audi e-Tron, Q8 e-Tron 50 Advance quattro, Q8 e-Tron 55 Sportback Advance S Line, Q8 e-Tron 55 quattro; BMW iX3 M Sport, iX xDrive 40, and i7 xDrive 60; BYD Tang; Dongfeng Rich 6; Geely Radar; Jaguar i-Pace; Kia EV9; Leapmotor C01; Mercedes-Benz EQE 300 and EQE 350+; Porsche Taycan 4S; Volkswagen ID6; and the Weltmeister W5.
The DOE also released an updated list of electric bikes, electric motorcycles, electric tricycles, as well as electric fleet vehicles, electric commercial vehicles, and electric public utility vehicles.
