Dongfeng PH boosts lineup as part of "Drive Your Friend” campaign

MANILA: Dongfeng Motor Philippines has introduced its reinvigorated lineup to provide drumroll to its latest campaign.

  • The company’s newest initiative — dubbed "Drive Your Friend” — formally unveiled the Aeolus Huge, Forthing Friday, and Nanobox together with the Rich 7, Nammi, Forthing U-Tour, MHero, and Aeolus Mage.

    Deputy Chief Executive Officer Brennan Lim of Legado Motors Incorporated (the latest distributor of DFM vehicles in the country) claimed that within just six months of operations, the company was able to penetrate the Philippine market.

    “Despite being a new player in the industry, our sales performance has exceeded expectations, demonstrating the market's positive reception of the Dongfeng Motors brand,” he said.

    To note, LMI is the former local distributor of GAC Motor in the Philippines.

    During the launch, Dongfeng Philippines also announced that it also has a newly-formed team to be headed by its new managing director, Atty. Albert Arcilla.

    A veteran in the local automotive industry, Arcilla was at the helm of The Covenant Car Company Incorporated before he accepted his new role.

    During his speech, Arcilla  shared the brand’s commitment to strong aftersales support.

     “For Dongfeng automobiles to enable and support the pursuits of our clients, it works to excel in the various areas of its operations by taking critical steps to ensure the ownership experience by establishing an efficient aftersales support group that will be responsible for the technical requirements and parts availability for all vehicles sold in the Philippines,” he explained.

    New models’ specifications

    The Dongfeng Nammi — a compact electric vehicle (EV) offers a maximum range of 430 kilometers and a 30-minute fast-charging capability. It is priced at P1.238 million.

    Meanwhile, the Dongfeng Aelous Huge crossover —equipped with a 1.5-liter MachPower Turbo engine — sports an athletic look and dishes out a cabin with a 13.2-inch touchscreen display and gamepad multi-functional steering wheel. It wears a price tag of P1.249 million.

    A product of Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, the Rich 7 comes with a 2.3-liter turbo diesel engine with front and rear differential locks, an off-road protection frame with off-road info displays, and 540-degree cameras. The pick-up truck is being retailed for P1.298 million.

    The Forthing U-Tour is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill that can deliver as much as 197 horsepower and 285 Newton-meters of torque. Outfitted with yacht-like interiors and complementing captain seats, the price of the Toyota Innova-challenging nameplate starts at P1.358 million. 

    Further, the fully-electric MHero offers smart off-road architecture, intelligent cockpit design, and 500-km range. The military-inspired SUV is fitted with a rear-wheel steering function and an engine that produces 1,000 horses. It comes with a P6.98 million price tag.

    The new DFM models can be viewed at its showrooms in Pasig, Alabang, Cavite, Marcos Highway, Pampanga, and Tarlac.
