DPWH closes SLEX portion to make way for Sucat-Alabang Extension works
MANILA: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has closed the western section of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) which comprises two lanes going southbound. The closure from May 28 to June 9 paves the way for the bored piling works for the Sucat-Alabang Extension.
As the National Capital Region (NCR) shifts from modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to general community quarantine (GCQ) beginning today and the entire Region 4-A (CALABARZON) is now under GCQ, the DPWH stated that the concessionaire was asked to organize ahead of their scheduled closure and take advantage of the limited movement of motorists and public transportation in the area.
The concessionaire, South Luzon Tollway Corporation, will also be asked to speed up the expected 15-day task to be completed in 10 to 12 days, in time fo the June 9 opening.
The DPWH also guaranteed that the identification of alternative routes will be made available to motorists and that there will also be immediate dissemination of public advisories.
