EVAP and Bataan provincial government to work closely to implement an EV roadmap
MANILA: The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), under the leadership of its president, Edmund Araga, and executive director, Dr. Manny Biona, will be collaborating with the office of Bataan Representative Albert Garcia to push forward the integration of electric vehicles (EV) into the province’s public utility vehicle (PUV) network.

The goal of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines is to educate the public on the economic and ecological benefits of electric-powered vehicles.Under the said initiative, Bataan will see a public transportation network with reduced carbon emissions and enhanced energy efficiency. The plan is likewise in line with EVAP’s goals of promoting EVs as a more environment-friendly means of transport.
The said collaboration between EVAP and the province of Bataan was successfully established during a meeting. At the said event, both parties agreed to work closely to realize the successful enactment of a Bataan EV roadmap, which is aligned with the province’s economic and environmental goals.
According to Araga, Bataan has a progressive stance when it comes to improving its public transport network. As such, he is happy to form a collaboration with the provincial government.
“Bataan’s proactive approach to developing its public transportation infrastructure is commendable. We are excited to support their initiatives and work together to create a cleaner, more efficient transportation system that benefits both the environment and the local economy,” Araga said.
Congressman Albert Garcia likewise reaffirmed the dedication of his province toward sustainability.
“Bataan is committed to leading the way in cleaner and more efficient public transportation. Our collaboration with EVAP will help us develop and implement effective programs that align with our environmental goals and economic development plants,” the lawmaker said.
EVAP said its establishment of collaborations is part of its preparations for the upcoming 2024 Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit. The said event will be held at the SMX Convention Center from October 24-26, 2024.
