EVAP creates stronger ties at 2024 Electric Vehicle Asia

MANILA: The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) established stronger relations with similar EV-focused organizations from neighboring countries at the recently held Electric Vehicle Asia (EVA) event in Bangkok, Thailand.

EVAP was represented by its president, Edmund Araga, who also served as the representative for the Asian Federation of Electric Vehicle Associations. 

According to EVAP, its president engaged with key stakeholders and industry leaders at the EVA to discuss accelerating EV adoption, developing EV-related infrastructure, and harmonizing regional laws and regulations pertaining to electric-powered vehicles. 

“Strengthening our relationships within the ASEAN region is crucial as we collectively work towards a greener, more sustainable future. The Electric Vehicle Asia event provided an invaluable platform for sharing knowledge and best practices, and I am confident that our collaborative efforts will yield significant advancements in the EV industry,” Araga said. 

At the EVA, Araga likewise highlighted the upcoming Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS), which is scheduled to take place at the SMX Exhibit in Manila from October 24-26, 2024. 

As per EVAP, the PEVS may draw a wide variety of participants, including those from the government, EV industry experts, and EV enthusiasts. The aforementioned upcoming event will serve as a platform to explore the latest innovations in EV technologies, as well as an avenue for concerned parties to discuss policy frameworks and potential investments in the Philippines in relation to EV.
