Face-lifted Cruze Launched in Thailand
MANILA: The ongoing Bangkok International Grand (BIG) Motor Sale puts spot light on many new productions and face-lifts and amongst them one is the Chevrolet Cruze facelift which is launched in Thailand. General Motors’ this new model with recent cosmetic surgery is set to battle with Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
The styling updates include a new dual-port grille and bumper with LED daytime running lights above the fog lamps. The rear also has Camaro inspired LED tail lights with new 17-inch alloys on four corners. With number plates on bumper now, there are two brand new cars with Cruze nameplate, one each for China and North America.
Inside the Cruze, is the addition of a seven-inch color touchscreen infotainment system which comes with Chevrolet's MyLink. The new interior color scheme called 'Saddle up' with entire new arrangement of switches ensure better ergonomics. Other new features include enhanced voice control, built-in app technology, and Bluetooth audio streaming.
Under the bonnet resides the same Ecotec 1.8-litre engine which propels out 141 hp and 177 Nm. The DOHC with Double CVC is paired to a six speed automatic transmission to add to quicker response. Further, the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with 163 PS and 360 Nm was also used to come but now is discontinued because of its expensive nature.
With expected deliveries to start from next month in Thailand, the face-lifted Cruze should be turning to Philippines soon.
