Ferrari 812 Superfast unveiled in the Philippines
MANILA: The Ferrari 812 Superfast, tagged as the ‘fastest and most powerful Ferrari yet’ is here in the Philippines. The credit goes to Autostrada Motore - the official distributor of Ferrari in the country, owner Wellington Soong and his sons Jason and Marc that Filipinos over the years got to experience the best of performance motoring world.
The 812 Superfast was globally unveiled at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, and since then it has graced Thailand, Indonesian, and Chinese shores. Powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine, the 812 Superfast generates a maximum power of 801 PS at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
This makes it the most potent Ferrari in the alley, whose power matches to LaFerrai’s V12 but surpasses its torque. According to the company, the 812 engine is as good as new with approximately 75% unique parts. To achieve the massive performance figures few Formula 1 techniques are employed by Ferrari like - gasoline direct-injection system with 350bas injectors and continuously variable length intake runners.
Helping driver control the enormous amount of power, Ferrari used active aerodynamic aids and an advanced steering technology called Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0. This tech vastly improves the 812s nimbleness and reaction time by smartly combining electronic power steering with rear wheel steering.
At the introductory event, two trims of the Ferrari 812 Superfast were on display. One was splashed in Bianca Avus color with Bordeaux cabin, while the other variant wore the bold Rosso Corso shade complimented by a tan interior.
At the moment, information on the Ferrari 812 Superfast is limited. In coming months we are expecting to know it better and get more details on the spec and pricing end.
