Ferrari Portofino launched in the Philippines under Phoenix Petroleum partnership
MANILA: The Ferrari Portofino has made its official debut in the Philippines at an event held at The Cove in Okada. This launch comes just a few days after Phoenix Petroleum’s Dennis Uy entered into a partnership with the official distributor of Ferrari and Maserati in the Philippines.
The Ferrari Portofino is the latest supercar to come out of the stables of the popular Italian manufacturer. It was globally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The Portofino is essentially a Grand Tourer and is the official successor to the Ferrari California T. It is thus the only front wheel drive car in Ferrari’s portfolio that comes with a folding hardtop.
Ferrari supercars are usually known for their raw, unadulterated power, fast accelerations, and aggressive driving dynamics. However, the Portofino Grand Tourer has been engineered to offer comfort during long drives and overall versatility. Ferrari has named their latest Grand Tourer after a town in Riviera in the Liguria Region. This town is famous for its beautiful scenery and lush & laid-back living standards. The Italian automaker has thus tried to emulate these characteristics into the Portfolio Grand Tourer by making it look beautiful and adding a bunch of comfort & convenience-oriented features.
Powering the Ferrari Portofino is a 3.8-litre, twin turbo, V8 engine that churns out 600 PS and 760 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. This is over 40 PS more than the power output seen on the Portofino’s predecessor – the Ferrari California T. Ferrari claims that the Portofino is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds, before hitting its top speed of 320 kmph.
