Fiat to bring revived Abarth 695 and 124 GT at Geneva Motor Show
MANILA: We heard from all, be it the high-end or economic auto brands about their display arrangement for the soon to start 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. And now with Fiat giving out information about its mates accompanying the brand at the show, our list seems to have come to an end. To the inventory of cars going up at the Fiat pavilion are included special editions of Abarth 695 and Abarth 124 GT.
Starting with Abarth 124 GT, this one is an upgraded version of Abarth 124 Spider in the area of looks and performance. Fiat has given the GT edition a unique splash of colour that goes by the name Alpi Oriental Grey (we have rarely seen this one around). Complimenting this attractive shade of grey is another gunmetal grey shade covering ORVM caps and other front fascia areas. The car features a removable carbon hardtop weighing 16 kg when tucked -in place. Fiat has fitted its roaster with a new set of lighter alloy wheels that it claims to reduce the car weight by 3 kg. Apart from the above-mentioned standard options, 124 GT comes with an optional spec sheet with add-ons like carbon fiber caps, matte black hood, and carbon fiber rear spoiler.
As for the under hood configuration, the upgraded GT houses Abarth 124 carried forward mill - a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. When paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, the said engine produces a maximum output of 169 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm. This under hood configuration allows the roadster to go from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds with a top seed of 232 kmph.
Accompanying the GT edition at Geneva is the special edition Abarth 689 Rivale. Fiat developed this one in collaboration with yacht-maker Rivale, which justifies its significant yacht-like styling both on the exterior and interior end. To the list are included satin-finish chrome trim, two-tone Rivale blue, and grey body colour, along with blue leather upholstery, and mahogany wood trim on the inside.
The Geneva International Motor Show will begin from 8th March, where we'll get to see the two Fiat beauties painted in the most lovely colours standing side by side.
