Filipino e-racers vie to represent country at Toyota GR GT Cup-Asia Finals 2024

MANILA: Three Filipinos will compete at the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Gran Turismo (GT) Cup Asia Finals 2024, where they will vie to represent the continent at the Global Finals to be held later this year. 

The Toyota GT GT Cup Asia Finals 2024 will take place on October 13, 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be hosted at Connexion Conference and Event Center. 

Below are the e-racers flying the Philippine flag: 

• Luis Moreno
• Enzo Ison
• Russel Reyes

Moreno, considered to be the e-motorsports veteran among his peers, won second place at the Asia Finals last year. He also was the Toyota GR GT Cup Champion in 2021 and has been sim racing for more than 10 years. 

On the other hand, Reyes — who also found success at the physical race track after scoring a podium finish at the second leg of the GR Philippine Cup at the Clark International Speedway — likewise has some solid e-racing experience under his belt. 

Ison, not to be overlooked, is the past Junior Class champion of TGR GT Cup Philippines. 

The three bested 40 of the best sim racers in the country at the National Finals held at the SM Mall of Asia in August.

The aforementioned e-racers will virtually go wheel-to-wheel with competitors from other countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

Moreno, Ison, and Reyes — as well as the abovementioned e-racers — will duke it out in iconic circuits, namely the Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway.
