Final Chevrolet C7 Corvette auctioned for Php 138 million

MANILA: The whole automobile space is excited for the arrival of the Chevrolet C8 Corvette. However, the inception of the new model means we all have to bid adieu to the current C7 Corvette. In fact, Chevrolet has already halted the sales of the sports car in the US market. But the Chevrolet C7 Corvette cannot just go like that and deserves a proper farewell, right? Guess what? The American automobile manufacturer has done just that.

General Motors has just auctioned the last production unit of the Chevrolet C7 Corvette at the Barrett-Jackson Auction for an insane amount of $ 2.7 million. If we convert that price into Philippine Pesos, the amount that pops up is Php 138 million. That is some price for a sports car. Dubbed as the 2019 model Z06, this Chevrolet C7 Corvette gets some serious leather inside the cabin courtesy of the 3LZ trim package. Other amenities on the car include Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, red leather seats, and carbon fibre roof & front splitter.

The power comes from a 6.2-litre LT4 V8 that holds in its arsenal a maximum power of 650 horsepower and a peak torque of 881 Nm. The power produced is then sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual gearbox. The highest bid at the auction was placed by an anonymous bidder over the phone. Moreover, the auction amount will also be used for a good cause as the money will be contributed to the Smart Home program by Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The Smart Home program provides injured veterans with mortgage-free homes in the United States of America. Furthermore, these houses are not conventional buildings. Considering the fact the injured veterans cannot live a life like a normal physically fit person, these houses incorporate automatic doors, lighting, and other convenient features. When auction amounts are contributed to a good cause, the higher the amount is, the better it is.
