Ford brings its largest SUV Expedition EL to the Philippines Market

MANILA: The Ford Expedition EL has made its debut in the Philippines. The vehicle was already launched in North America last year. Despite being larger in dimension, the car weighs 136 kg less in comparison to the outgoing model.

The EcoBoost engine is an upgraded version of the Ford 3.5-litre, turbocharged V6. It can deliver 375 PS of maximum power and 637 Nm of peak torque. The engine permits shifts through a ten-speed automatic transmission.

This all-new Expedition EL will be available in an extended wheelbase form, have slim intakes on the front bumper, a wide grille, upright fascia and with a couple of large-sized headlights etc. Character lines above the door handles are well defined and sides have got upright profile. The corners of the automobile are featured with large-sized taillights, which are raised vertically. The name Expedition gets displayed prominently at the center with the help of a strong chrome trim piece that facilitates connecting light with the name.

A set of alloy wheels which are 20 inches is used for the car. The measurement reading of wheelbase is 3,342 mm x 2,030 x 1,936 mm. Lengthwise, the vehicle measures 5,665 mm and this makes it the longest SUV available in the Philippines market at present. The usage of aluminium in the body and in its structure has helped the manufacturer to reduce its weight significantly in comparison to the previous version.

The Ford Expedition EL comes featured with vertically positioned air-conditioning vents and the occupants in the second row can freely adjust the settings. There is a huge infotainment screen, backed by new display SYNC technology. The car has got a rotary dial to change the gears. Bang and Olufsen audio system gives better quality sound and panoramic sunroof allows better illumination.

Two types of Ford Expedition Limited EL are available - the one with captain's chairs for the second row and a standard model. The price ranges from Php 4,258,000 to Php 4,358,000.
