Ford Bronco named best small SUV in JD Power study

MANILA: The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport was named the Best Small SUV for Initial Quality by J.D. Power.

Per the Blue Oval brand, the Ford Bronco Sport outperformed 18 other models in a study done in the United States.

“Ford’s achievement of receiving the award for the Bronco Sport in the Small SUV segment shows their continued commitment to Initial Quality,” J.D Power Auto Benchmarking Senior Director Frank Hanley noted.

Likewise, the 2024 Ford Explorer, Maverick, and Super Duty nameplates performed well in their respective segments.

“We are making a lot of progress on quality and customers with our latest vehicles are benefiting from it,” Ford Product Development and Quality Vice President Jim Baumbick said.

“We have more work to do, as our ambition is to have best-in-class quality and we won’t be satisfied until we achieve and sustain it,” he added.

Not too long ago, Ford Motor Philippines — the local wing of the Dearborn-based automotive brand — launched the Bronco nameplate in the country.

Here, the model is equipped with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that produces a maximum of 330 horses with 555 Newton-meters of pulling power. The gasoline mill is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, complemented by an advanced 4X4 system with automatic on-demand engagement.

Stopping power comes in the form of four-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock brake system and electronic stability control.

Further, its off-road capabilities are boosted by Ford’s HOSS (High-performance, Off-road, Stability Suspension) system with Bilstein position-sensitive shock absorbers.

The available drive modes also improve one’s experience and the Ford Bronco’s ability to adapt to almost any type of terrain.

Other notable features include beadlock-ready 17-inch Black High Gloss-painted aluminum wheels with a Warm Alloy Beauty Ring, high-clearance fender flares, LED headlights with signature lighting, a Carbonized Gray molded-in-color hard top with sound deadening headliner, a 12-inch touchscreen display, a wireless charger, and a Premium Bang and Olufsen sound system with 10 speakers (subwoofer included).

Safety-wise, it gets technologies like auto high-beam headlights, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, post-impact braking, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, evasive assist, and a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert.

The Philippine-spec Ford Bronco is offered in a sole Outer Banks variant slapped with the Sasquatch Package. It wears a price tag of P4.998 million.
