Ford Cars Upgrades Sync System with Free Apple Siri Eyes
MANILA:The Ford Cars that are equipped with Ford Sync system will be offered with free Apple Siri Eyes. The latest downloadable feature will allow the users to command Siri using the interior mic and interact with the system using a connected iPhone. Ford has announced that the models equipped with the 2nd generation Sync system, popularly known as MyFord may update their system with Apple's Eyes-free system that is available for all iOS devices.
With this updated Sync system, drivers will be able to get virtual assistance by simply pressing the Voice recognition button mounted on the steering wheel. The Software will take the driver’s command for the next step execution. The dedicated button on the steering wheel involves functions like browsing Apple Maps, setting alarms and reminders, receive text messages, making phone calls, and many more.

Sherif Marakby, Ford Electronics and Electrical Systems’ Engineering director, said, “Siri Eyes-Free is an ultimate voice-activated feature that will allow the customers to enjoy the ride with complete virtual assistance. The update gives them privilege to use their smartphone in a flexible manner.
Ford Owners having 2011 to 2016 Ford models may visit the MyFord website for registration and details regarding the update. Ford is also keen to use Apple's CarPlay solution in the Sync 3 system and offer the compatible vehicle in the next production line. However, No announcement regarding the release date has been made yet. The downloadable update is available at http://owner.ford.com/.
