Manila: Good news for the Ford SUV fans, the American carmaker has recently announced that it will be adding four new vehicles to its Global SUV marque in the next four years. According to Ford, the millennials, people who are born between the 1980s to early 2000s and Baby Boomers generation, those who were born between 1946 to 1964 in the US has lent major support for growth in SUV sales. Together it is calculated that they lend 160 million good reasons for the upcoming surge in SUV market for the next decade. Apart from this, the introduction of Ford's fuel-efficient technologies has also helped the consumers to worry less about the rising fuel costs. All this allowed the major American carmaker to come up with four new Ford SUV vehicles across the globe in the near future.
Mark LaNeve, Ford Motor Co. vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service said, “As members of the 80-million-strong millennial age group enter their prime child-rearing years, a leading indicator of more SUV sales, nearly 80 million aging baby boomers continue to prefer their SUVs.”

The four Ford upcoming SUV's that the company is going to launch in the next 48 months will be in the specific segments where Ford haven’t competed yet. Those who are not getting Ford's point should read that, this is how Automotive industry works. Every carmaker announces new models after conducting very meticulous studies of a particular demography. They study the population stats and buying needs of a section of the society and looks at its impact in the coming years. The similar strategy is behind the rise and fall of stock prices across the world. Thus, here Ford has related the stats of Baby boomers and Millennials and its proportionate effect on SUV sales.
Mark LaNeve was noted saying that, even the thought of starting a family by Millennials will bring a surge in the SUV market with great growth opportunities for the company in the competitive SUV market. The research further shows that Millennials are not the only one who will be bringing change to the market. The Baby Boomers section of the society is the fastest aging group and they will prefer buying an SUV over any other vehicle because of its ease to get in and out of the car. Also, they will feel more alive and young sitting higher to the ground in an SUV than a passenger car.
It has been cited that, Ford’s fuel efficient technologies in its utility vehicles providing better mileage. Thus, the anticipated rise in the fuel prices in the coming years will tend people to switch towards SUV's that can haul more people with improved fuel efficiency than regular passenger cars.
Although, the American carmaker has not yet revealed the list of its upcoming SUV's. However, the speculated reports suggest that Ford Bronco might be maiden dice rollover by Ford among the four announced vehicles. Asserting the above-mentioned point is the previously reported news of Ford filing a trademark application in last February 2015 for the Bronco nameplate.
Ford is already a hit brand in the Philippines, hence, we can speculate that it will surely launch Bronco in the Philippines market too. Also, it can be said that if Bronco comes to the ground as a rugged SUV, it will straightly go against the likes of Jeep SUV's. Further strengthening the claim of Ford in the competitive segments.
