MANILA: Employees of Ford Philippines once again participated in a variety of community-building initiatives last September in celebration of the Global Caring Month.

Ford partnered with Gawad Kalinga and the American Chamber Foundation Philippines for this year's Global Caring Month.
  • Ford employees volunteered to help pack local vegetables and bags of rice into bayongs (locally woven bags) that benefited over 600 families. Families in Gawad Kalinga (GK) villages in Naic and Trece Martires in Cavite received the first 300 bayongs. Employee volunteers also helped paint the community library in one of these villages, GK Hugo Perez.

The other 300 bayongs were distributed to families in different GK communities in Caloocan City. Volunteers also had the opportunity to work in vegetable farming at the GK Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan during the turnover.

“We are very happy to finally be able to celebrate Global Caring Month in-person and participate in volunteer activities on-ground together with our partners and beneficiaries this year. At Ford, we continue with our mission to support nation-building efforts focused on sustainable development, health and nutrition, community development and education. We thank our employees for taking the time off their busy schedules to help us implement our community programs,” Ford Philippines Government and Corporate Affairs Director Josie Gonzalez stated.

Ford also worked with the American Chamber Foundation Philippines (AmCham Foundation) with a grant donation in order to assist the elderly and abandoned in their desire to live a decent and healthy life. Volunteers from Ford paid a visit to the Anawim Lay Mission Foundation in Rodriguez, Rizal to distribute wheelchairs, food, and various household essentials to 68 elderly people.
