Alongside the local launch, Ford Philippines launched what it calls "the next-generation" ownership experience for the Ranger and Everest. The pickup and SUV are available with an extended warranty for five years or a total mileage of up to 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
“We recognize that vehicle ownership is an important purchase consideration for our customers. That’s why we are launching the next-gen Ranger (and Everest) together with a longer warranty coverage to provide our customers with added protection and peace of mind. This is part of our commitment to enhancing the Ford ownership experience as we continue to treat our customers like family,” Managing Director of Ford Philippines Michael Breen said during the launch.
The 2022 Ford Ranger gives customers a choice of engines to suit their needs and lifestyles.
The two-liter Bi-Turbo mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission is available on the Ranger 4x4 Wildtrak variant and is capable of 210PS of maximum power and 500Nm of maximum torque. The two-liter Single Turbo mated with a six-speed automatic or manual transmission, available for the other Ranger variants, generates 170PS of maximum power and 405Nm of maximum torque.
The 2022 Ford Ranger is equipped with Intelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM), a smart new feature that tells the owner when to have an oil change based on actual engine data, operating conditions, and driving habits.
The next-gen Ranger incorporates several intuitive designs, making the pick-up truck more user-friendly for any lifestyle. A rear box step makes accessing the cargo area more accessible and safer. Clamp pockets allow users to attach timber or tools to the tailgate workbench, which can also be concealed with spring-loaded caps when not in use.
In the 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak model, the roof rails create even more space for oversized cargo. For easier tailgate operations, the next-generation Ranger has the Tailgate Lift Assist–enabling users to close the tailgate with just a light touch. Cargo organizing also comes with a new load box and tailgate protective capping for more grip and safety.
When ZIGWHEELS PHILIPPINES asked Breen whether Ford Philippines is considering launching the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor, he responded: "We're not in the place to talk about what the next offerings are. Today, we're taking advantage of what (Ranger and Everest) models we have to share."
In a statement, the Ford Philippines leadership added: “With a bold look and design, premium interior, enhanced ride comfort, and outstanding new capabilities, the next-gen Ranger is set to once again define the pickup truck segment in the country."
Meanwhile, the 2022 Ford Everest blends adventure-ready capability with exceptional comfort and customer-focused technology.
The 2.0L Bi-Turbo engine mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is available on the 2022 Ford Everest Titanium+ 4x4 variant, is capable of 210PS of maximum power and 500Nm of maximum torque. The 2.0L Single Turbo mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, available for the other 2022 Ford Everest variants, makes 170PS of maximum power and 405Nm of maximum torque.
With the next-gen Everest’s terrain management system, drivers are given command of six on- and off-road drive modes (Normal, Eco, Tow Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Sand to help master every terrain.
Inside, the next-gen Everest boasts a roomy interior with plush leather seats, premium finishes, and ambient lighting in areas where they can be appreciated best. The sense of spaciousness is amplified by the full-width instrument panel and center console with dual cupholder recesses, plus dash-mounted ‘pop out’ cupholders for front seat occupants.
Thanks to the second-row seats’ ability to slide further forward than before, access to the third-row seats are much easier. Additionally, all occupants have more places to store their things and can charge their devices through power outlets in all three rows.
Ford prioritized flexible seating in the next-gen Everest – the second-row slides with a 60:40 split seat-back and the 50:50 split third row in the seven-seater configuration can be folded at the touch of a button on high-series models.
Both the second-and third-row seats are designed to fold flat to allow for long loads to be carried safely. Additionally, a hands-free lift-gate opens with a simple kick, allowing users to open the back door of the vehicle even with their hands full–enabling easier cargo loading.
“The next-gen Everest is an all-in-one SUV package that combines capability, safety, and comfort. We understand that these are the same attributes that Filipino customers are looking for in their SUV, so we’re confident that it is ready to be the Filipino family’s reliable partner during the busy workdays, and especially during weekends when we see families are sharing memorable moments together,” added Breen.
Customers can visit the Ford Ranger page or the Ford Everest page on the Ford Philippines website to make a reservation on the two models.
