Ford PH sales surge by 84% in H1
MANILA: Ford Philippines capped off the first half of 2021 with a strong sales performance as it moved a total of 9,855 units, which is 84% higher versus the same period last year.
The Ford Ranger was the best-selling Ford model, moving a total of 4,515 units, which reflects a 13% increase versus the first half of 2020. In the 4x4 pickup segment, Ford was able to sell 2,588 units, showing 28% growth from last year’s sales. The Ranger Raptor led the brand’s overall 4x4 sales.
Meanwhile, the Ford Territory dominated the small SUV segment, with sales reaching 3,323 units. It cornered a 56% percent market share in the segment. Last June, the Territory reached its 5,000th customer milestone after selling 5,248 units since its launch in August 2020.
In a statement, Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Breen said, “The Ranger and Territory’s strong sales in the first half of the year is a testament to their sustained popularity in the market, and we thank our customers for their continued trust and preference toward our pickups and SUVs.”
Last March, Ford expanded its 4x4 pickup offerings with the launch of the Ranger FX4 Max. The new Ranger variant comes with Fox shocks off-road suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires to enable greater off-road capability. It also features a tough exterior look which is accentuated by the iconic Ford grille and tubular sports bar. On the inside, the Ranger FX4 Max offers premium ambience as it comes with leather seats with carbon accents and Miko suede inserts.
Ford Philippines also rolled out the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 with power roller shutter in June. The power roller shutter is an original equipment manufactured product that provides enhanced security when moving cargo.
To further boost its 4x4 pickup portfolio, Ford Philippines is set to launch the limited-edition Ranger Raptor X on July 28. The Raptor X features a more rugged and sportier look as it is designed with over-the-top (OTT) and body side stripes, extended leg sports bar, red front tow hooks, and matte black wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. Ford will only release 200 Raptor X units throughout the year.
“As we aim to sustain our strong performance in the second half of the year, we remain committed to creating and bringing products and services attuned to the needs and lifestyles of our customers,” Breen added.
