What is Ford Philanthropy?
Ford Philanthropy is Ford's global charity arm. What vehicle models were donated by Ford to Team Rubicon?
Ford has donated examples of the F-150, Super Duty, and Bronco to Team Rubicon. The Blue Oval’s philanthropic arm fielded the aforementioned disaster response initiatives in partnership with Team Rubicon, a veteran-led international non-profit organization specializing in disaster response.
Specifically, Ford and Team Rubicon’s efforts focused on American states that were hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Operations were deployed in Florida, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Teams handling route clearance were likewise sent to respond to the destruction caused by Hurricane Milton.
Moreover, Ford Philanthropy has been matching donations of up to 100,000 USD (around P5.773 million) to Team Rubicon. The said contributions by the Michigan-based marque also go on top of its ongoing $5.8 million, five-year commitment to the non-profit disaster relief group. The brand has also donated a fleet of F-150 and Super Duty pickup trucks, as well as Bronco units, to the non-profit organization.
Additionally, Ford has also supported the American Red Cross and Feeding America, both of which are currently mobilized for disaster relief.
Ford dealerships in affected states, meanwhile, have also pitched in by providing Team Rubicon with fleets of loaner vehicles. Per the American carmaker, a majority of models comprising the said fleets were kitted out with “Pro Power Onboard,” which can essentially turn any car into a power source.
Ford has made great strides in charitable activities in the Philippine setting as well. Currently, the American marque’s local arm is in partnership with the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.
When Typhoon Carina (international name Gaemi) struck the country earlier this year, the brand also offered significant discounts on spare parts and repairs to address the needs of affected vehicle owners.
