Ford suspends Russian joint venture, donates US$100K for Ukraine relief

MANILA: As part of the global community, Ford expressed its concern about the invasion of Ukraine and the resulting threats to peace and stability. In line with this, Ford has announced the immediate suspension of its operations in Russia.

Ford’s Russian operations have been drastically reduced in recent years, and the company currently focuses solely on commercial manufacturing and Russian sales through a minority interest in the Sollers Ford joint venture.

"Given the situation, we have today informed our JV partners that we are suspending our operations in Russia, effective immediately, until further notice," the company said in the statement. 

Ford also vows to support the Ukrainian nationals who are working for the company.

Ford Fund is also donating US$100,000 to the Global Giving Ukraine Relief Fund to help Ukrainian residents and families who have been displaced due to the crisis.
