Foton PH to present modern jeepneys in twin transport events
MANILA: As part of its support for the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program of the government, Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) endeavors to boost the public transport sector through an exhibit of its newest modern jeepneys at the most significant road transport event of the year, namely the Philippine Public Transport Convention (PPTC) and the Manila Commercial Vehicle Show (MCVS).
The said events will take place on January 28 to 30, 2021 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
These twin events serve as the first meeting of stakeholders in the transportation sector that caters to Filipino businesses supported by various government agencies and the commuters.
The government agencies involved are the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Office of Transportation Cooperative (OTC), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and more.
As the Philippines continues to resolve mass transportation issues, the PPTC and MCVS are regarded as excellent platforms that can deliver more potential options and solutions. This will aid in accomplishing the common goal of offering a more stable and comfortable mobility for the riding public.
FMPI will join the PPTC and MCVS, in line with its commitment to boost the continuous development and growth of the transport sector, its customers, as well as the economy through the introduction of highly competitive vehicles to the market.
As part of its initiatives to offer reliable mobility to Filipinos, Foton will be presenting two of its tough-looking modern jeepneys in the MCVS.
The Foton F-Jeepney F29 provides more robust and massive features. Crafted to meet the transportation needs of people, it updates the conventional Filipino jeepney with its expansive 29-passenger capacity.
The F-Jeepney F29 is equipped with a 3.8-liter ISF Cummins engine that generates a maximum torque of 500Nm at 1,200 to 1,900rpm and a maximum output of 154hp at 2,600 rpm. It provides the “King of the Road” the required muscle to take its passengers to their preferred destinations.
The F-Jeepney F29 takes pride in its modern technology that satisfies the latest transportation standards. It features an LED TV screen, CCTV system, GPS tracker, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an Automatic Fare Collection System for contactless transactions.
The F-Jeepney F29 also meets the Euro IV emission standards as well as the Philippine National Standard (PNS) 2126:2017.
Meanwhile, the Foton F-Jeepney F24 is powered by the world-class ISF 2.8 Cummins engine that takes advantage of long-lasting power and an expansive interior that can accommodate a maximum of 24 passengers.
It generates a maximum torque of 260Nm at 3,200 rpm and a strong power output of 117hp at 3,200 rpm. The F-Jeepney F24 offers additional comfort with its highly efficient air-conditioning system and cushioned seats.
Apart from the F24 and F29 models, the Foton F-Jeepney also provides a variant that is suitable for more compact and more agile public transport.
The 11-seater Foton F-Jeepney 11 flaunts a seamless drive with its streamlined and lightweight design even in narrow city streets.
Its 2.2-liter diesel engine generates a maximum torque of 220 Nm at 2,220 rpm and a reliable power output of 87 hp at 3,200 rpm. Its proven motor is matched to a convenient-to-shift five-speed manual transmission for hassle-free operation and efficiency.
