Foton Philippines becomes Gilas Pilipinas' official vehicle partner

MANILA: Following the TRAIN laws, Foton is one automaker that has witnessed a steady growth in the Philippine automobile industry. From introducing the latest vehicles to opening brand-new dealerships, the Chinese automaker hasn't put a step wrong in recent times. Besides the productive moves in the industry and market, Foton has also been very proactive in giving it back to Philippine society. And, sports is another vertical where Foton has made efforts to provide support to the teams and athletes.

Alongside providing support to various sides, Foton has also fielded its squads in student athletic programs, local triathlons, and even Philippine Super Liga (PSL). Latest developments reveal that Gilas Pilipinas will have Foton has their vehicle partner for the upcoming 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. "We are excited about the participation of Gilas Pilipinas in the international scene. I know that they will show off their best efforts to let the world know that strength and sportsmanship is in the DNA of the Filipino athletes. I’m grateful that they trusted Foton to be part of the national team’s journey", said Rommel Sytin, Foton Philippines president.

The Gilas squad will get two sixteen-seater Foton Traveller vans. Sytin praised the Traveller for its overall size, maximized space, and extended legroom. Also, the Foton president went on to mention the van's roomy interior, augmented headroom, and bubble roof, which will all make for a great vehicle for the team that needs large headroom. Gilas Pilipinas will play their first game on 31 August 2019 when they face Italy. The next two group stage games will be on 2nd and 4th September 2019 against Serbia and Angola, respectively.
