Foton Philippines Takes Next Step Towards its Vision 2020
MANILA: Foton Philippines holds a long history in the country with its first steps landing on our shores back in 2006. Over the years, this Chinese automotive firm has grown and maintained a strong future vision in its head. Tagged as Foton Vision 2020, this future plan is expected to design the trajectory of Foton in the country, as the company aims to achieve an annual sales figure of 20,000 units that is currently restricted to 4000 units. Now with the inauguration of Foton Quezon Avenue dealership, the firm has taken the next step towards its Vision 2020.
Over the past few months, Foton Philippines has acted very promptly with all its moves proportionally affecting its market standing. Take for instance, the launch of Toplander, Foton best-selling SUV overseas at the October held Foton Big Show, 2015. Following it was the February 2016 inauguration of Foton Clark Freeport Zone assembly plant. With the opening of this 11-hectare plant, Foton rightly hinted towards its expansion plans not just in the Philippines but also in overseas markets, as the same plant would be exporting trucks and pickups to Laos and Taiwan markets.
The opening of Foton Quezon Avenue dealership is just one of many teensy steps by Foton, helping it move a mile ahead in 2020 Vision direction. As per company's future plans, it has a target to open 35 dealerships nationwide until 2019. For the year 2016, Foton has a plan to open 24 new dealerships across the nation, out of which one was inaugurated yesterday at Quezon Avenue and the rest are said to house in locations like Pasong Tamo; Marilao; Santa Rosa, Laguna; Batangas City and Camarines Sur.
All these prospective dealerships like the one at QA are expected to be handled by Mahindra Auto Corp, as both Mahindra and Foton work in close proximity in the auto front. Also, like all the existing Foton dealerships in the Philippines, the one in QA will also be a 3S dealership, catering all the showroom, service and spare needs of the customers.
It's interesting to note that Foton Vision 2020 is not just restricted to increasing customer base, opening new plants and dealerships across the country. But it goes way further and aims to contribute its bit to the Philippines economy. United Asia Automotive Group, Inc (official distributor of Foton in the Philippines) President, Rommel Sytin over the years has shared his vision to open a technical training center in the country that would train country's youth in the automotive field, further helping them with jobs both in the local and international front.
In all, Foton’s ambitious Vision 2020 is a great plan that will be fruitful not just for the company but for the nation as well.
