GAC Motor PH gives a masterclass with the GN8 Master’s Edition
MANILA: After the debut of the GN8 in 2018, GAC Motor Philippines aims to boost the appeal of the minivan with a Master’s Edition model, which wears a new body kit for a bolder exterior look.
The highlight of the GAC GN8 Master’s Edition body kit is a new grille design sporting vertical silver slats. This grille is flanked by unique fog lights, which are connected by a silver trim on the bumper.
The side profile is underlined by side skirts finished in black and silver while chrome faux exhaust pipe finishes, silver details, and a pair of LED brake lights jazz up the rear styling.
This special edition minivan retails for P2.958 million, commanding a P692,000 premium over the GAC GN8 Premier variant.
Behind the GAC GN8 Master’s Edition's massive chrome grille rests the same powerful two-liter turbo engine on the vanilla GN8. It makes 199hp and 320Nm of torque, and is mated to an Aisin six-speed gearbox.
GAC has touted the seven-seater GN8 Master's Edition for its ability to keep passengers comfortable during long drives with the premium minivan's second-row heated and ventilated Ottoman car seats, which are also equipped with back massagers and aircraft-style headrests. The third-row likewise offers expansive legroom for optimum comfort.
The interior features what GAC calls a 360-degree Serene Sanctuary, with a 32-color LED adjustable ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, premium upholstery, and a 10-inch TFT infotainment screen to ensure full access to the GN8 Master's Edition's functions. Three-zone automatic air conditioner and an air purification system keep the cabin air cool and clean.
The GAC GN8 Master's Edition infotainment system thankfully has Apple Carplay that blasts audio through an eight-speaker Harman and Kardon system, equipped with Bluetooth and a hands-free phone system.
To ensure the safety of passengers, the GAC GN8 Master's Edition boasts of fully functional parking sensors, a 180-degree backup camera system, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), stability control system, three-point seat belts, seatbelt warning, anti-collision sensor, airbags, and child safety locks.
