Geneva Motor Show will see the prototype of Honda Urban EV
MANILA: Come Geneva Motor Show and we will see the Honda Urban EV in flesh for the first time. The show which kicks off on 7 March 2019 will be where the first prototype of the Urban EV will be showcased, said Honda.
Introduced for the first time in 2017, the Honda Urban EV concept was received very well by the automobile industry. Only then, Honda stated, “This is not some vision of the distant future: a production version of this car will be here by 2019”.
The Urban EV Concept looked very similar to the second generation Honda Civic and features a retro-inspired appearance. However, Honda clearly mentioned that the production model of the concept will boast a “planted, muscular stance”. Looking at the image of the prototype,
it appears that the EV has been given a visual update as the design language has been tweaked a little. On the front, the Urban EV features a Honda badge housed in the digital grille and a pair of circular headlamps. Following the grille and the lights, the front bumper also had a revision as it now packs a curvy look.
The Urban EV will feature an unsophisticated and clean design language, said Honda. The manufacturer also mentioned that purpose and functionality will be emphasised on while developing the Urban EV.
As the outside of the Urban EV has been revamped a little, we expect the interior to undergo some changes as well, however, without compromising on functionality.
As we mentioned before, the Honda Urban EV should hit the market in 2019 itself. The folks in Honda must be really busy these days. Will Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. bring the Urban EV over here? Let's wait for that.
