Get ready for the Maxus T60, now in PH
MANILA: Truly, the Philippines is a haven for pickups. And to sizzle up the competition for next year, Maxus Philippines has just announced that the first batch of its T60 pickup trucks has arrived in Batangas Port last 12 December 2019.
The European engineered, Chinese vehicle brand is known around the globe as SAIC Maxus Automotive Co., Ltd. The local car dealership, Maxus Philippines, recently entered the Philippine auto industry with its G10 and V80 models. The company knew the local market well with its initial offering of van and MPV, and now with the pick-up model to the delight of Filipino car enthusiasts.
The Maxus T60 is a midsize pickup truck with a traditional body-on-frame with MacPherson suspension at the front and leaf springs at the rear. The truck is originally powered by a 2.8-litre R series SC28R engine but received an updated option two years ago: the first is a 2.0-litre SAIC 20L4E Inline 4 turbocharged engine capable of producing 224 hp of power, partnered with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and the other is a 2.4-litre Mitsubishi Sirius-family SAIC 4G69S4N Inline 4 naturally aspirated petrol engine, capable of 136 hp of power mated to a 5 speed Aisin manual gearbox.
There is no word yet as to what engine and specs are available locally. What we do know is that the local Maxus T60 will come in 4×2 MT, 4×2 AT, and 4×4 AT variant and six color options: white, silver, black red grey, and the top of the line color— olive green.
There is no official pricing yet and a specific date for its release in the market but expect the Maxus T60 to be officially launched sometime in the first quarter of next year. We’ll sure to keep you posted when that happens.
