The official distributor of Toyota in Indonesia is PT Toyota-Astra Motor. The latest iteration of the Prius, which was initially launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2022, uses the Japanese car maker’s second-generation Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform. Toyota said the all-new model benefits from a lowered center of gravity, sharper handling, and better ride quality through the chassis.

On the other hand, the FT-3e EV concept showed the Japanese marque’s eagerness to develop battery EV technology further.
According to Toyota's Indonesian arm, the Prius HEV's entry into its market is in line with Toyota’s commitment to achieving global carbon neutrality via its Beyond Zero initiative. It likewise adheres to the Indonesian government’s “Net Zero Emission 2060” target.
“In line with the Indonesian government’s target of Net Zero Emission 2060, PT Toyota-Astra Motor, through Beyond Zero, aims to accelerate emission reduction and make a positive contribution to the environment, with a Multi Pathway Strategy using various electrification technologies and renewable energy to support sustainable mobility,” President of PT TAM Hiroyuki Ueda said.
