Grab PH promotes road safety among drivers through continuous learning programs
MANILA: To ensure safe rides for its passengers, Grab Philippines is conducting continuous learning initiatives for its drivers, refreshing their knowledge on road safety skills and regulations.

In the latest session of the series on Tuesday, Grab partnered with global construction material provider Cemex to share tips on how to safely ply the roads with heavy- and light-duty trucks.
Around 1,000 Grab drivers and delivery riders have taken part in the lecture series to date.
The lecture series also covers all aspects of passenger handling and gives Grab drivers essential customer service rules and tips. Through this program, Grab makes sure that from the time passengers board the car until they are dropped off, the drivers cultivate a safe and worry-free atmosphere for them. Among the topics covered in the lecture were gender sensitivity, the use of appropriate language, and general code of conduct.
Another initiative developed by the transport network vehicle service provider is GrabAcademy, an in-app learning platform that offers a wide range of educational programs for drivers, delivery riders, and merchant partners, covering topics like road safety, vehicle sanitation, and data protection, as well as refresher courses on service quality standards and platform guidelines. Those who complete a course will receive a certificate of completion through their driver or merchant apps.
“Road safety is more than just abiding by traffic regulations as it is a multi-dimensional commitment that requires a 360-degree approach. At Grab, we embrace a holistic safety ethos by introducing industry-first safety features within our app and equipping our driver-partners with the skills needed to offer safe rides,” Grab Philippines Head of Operations CJ Lacsican stated.
