H1 2022 is Lamborghini's best-ever semester for sales
MANILA: Automobili Lamborghini has maintained its upward trend from the beginning of the year, completing its best six months ever to the end of June 2022 in terms of sales, turnover, and profitability.

The United States was Lamborghini's strongest market in the first half of the year, selling 1,521 units.Lamborghini delivered 5,090 units in the first half of the year, up 4.9% versus the same period last year. In terms of financial indicators, turnover reached €1.33 billion, an increase of 30.6 % over the first half of 2021. Operating profit increased by 69.6%, from €251 million to €425 million. The corresponding operating margin was 31.9% after being 24.6 % in the same period last year. The main factors behind the improvement in profitability in the first half of the year were the rise in volumes, the change in the product mix, higher customization, and positive exchange rates.
In a statement, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann said, “We have come to the end of an exceptional first half of the year, despite ongoing uncertainty caused by the geopolitical situation. The outlook is equally positive, with orders taken already covering the whole of 2023 production.”
“This is a very challenging time but Lamborghini is facing it successfully thanks to a clear long-term strategy, which is bolstered by the brand’s great appeal,” Automobili Lamborghini Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Paolo Poma added. “The results from the first half underline the positive trend and strengthen our conviction that we can end 2022 with a significant increase in results compared to the previous year.”
The three macro-regions in which Lamborghini is present have a balanced distribution of deliveries to customers, with America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) accounting for 34%, 25%, and 41% percent of total volumes, respectively. More specifically, the United States was the strongest market, selling 1,521 units, followed by the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau with 576 units, Germany with 468 units, the United Kingdom with 440 units, and the Middle East with 282 units.

The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a new design and the latest V10 engine, received the best feedback among the new models this year. It offers fun-to-drive performance on both the road and the track. This year, there will be three new product launches beginning in August — two for Urus and one for the Huracán.
