Who will be the beneficiaries of the event?
Underprivileged students from the Sisters of Mary School students from Taguig under Bayani Scholarship program of Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, Inc.Is it open for anyone?
Yes, the event is open for all.The event transforms 4th Avenue corner 26th Street in BGC into a haven for gearheads as auto clubs, enthusiasts, and collectors display their machines in their full glory. Over at the NEO Park, participants such as Illac Diaz’s Liter of Light, Autobot Off-Road, Overland Kings Philippines, Kirby Kang, and Atoy Customs will bring their showcases that will surely get your motor running. There will also be cool car-related art exhibits at the NEO Atrium from artists such as Ramon Orlina, Ronald Ventura, Michael Sagaran, and Christopher Lacson.
The Seven/NEO Lobby will be the venue for different talks on art and automobiles, conducted by distinguished art curator Paul Schwartzbaum, designer Kenneth Cobonpue, artists Jefre Manuel and Paolo Delgado, and real estate magnate and NEO president Charlie Rufino. These will be followed by a discussion on the world of collecting by Calibre Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, car and watch aficionado Carl Cunanan.
80s and 90s kids will certainly rejoice as they reminisce and go down memory lane as entertainment, served up like no other by featured acts The Dawn, DJ Mike Lavet, and the Manila Strings Quartet. Special performances are also in store from the Bells Choir and the Sisters of Mary Choir.
Open to the general public, the Car and Art Festival is the latest in a series of annual events organized by the BGCCC to generate scholarship funds for underprivileged students. This year, grants by BDO, Digital Edge, and NEO will benefit the Sisters of Mary School’s chosen scholars taking up automotive-related courses, to help them with future employment prospects.
Another beneficiary is the Bayani Scholarship program of Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, Inc. (FBDFI), a university grant program for students of BGC partner schools in Taguig City.
