Harmann's new AI avatar is called Luna. How can Luna personalize innteractions with the car's occupants?
Per Harman, Luna can personalize interactions through voice and visuals.Luna (not to be confused with the Harman Kardon Bluetooth speaker) is powered by Ready Engage, an AI system that looks to redefine the in-cabin experience.
Ready Engage is said to be capable of personalizing interactions through voice and visuals, therefore allowing it to foster a natural and intuitive bond with the occupants.
Luna complements Harman’s suite of products like Ready Upgrade, Ready Care, and Ready Display, which infuse vehicles with a “brain,” “senses,” and a “voice.”
It is also integrated with Harman’s advanced Ready Vision products, including the award-winning QVUE windshield display. Through the latter, Luna is able to deliver immersive augmented reality features like dynamic street visualization and transparent hood views to elevate safety, comfort, and engagement.
“Harman is pioneering the next frontier in automotive technology by translating user states and situational understanding into truly contextual in-cabin experiences,” Harman International Chief Technology Officer Armin Prommersberger said in a statement.
“Harmann’s portfolio of intelligent solutions is the most comprehensive in the industry, and our products go beyond proven technical excellence. We help OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) deliver differentiation and deeper engagement for their customers, making us the transformation partner of choice for automakers,” he added.
According to Harman, the Ready Engage AI system that powers Luna can be fully customized by each automaker.
That said, avatar skins (which can act as co-pilot to drivers) for example, can be personalized by each brand to deliver a more tailored experience for their target markets.
