Have a look at the facelifted 2019 Suzuki Alto 800
MANILA: After being one of the hot sellers in the entry-level hatchback segment for around 6 years, the Suzuki Alto 800 was certainly due for an update. Suzuki has heard voices and provided the Alto 800 with an update, albeit a mild one. As it’s just a facelifted model, we should not expect any radical changes.
Starting with the exterior, the new Alto 800 now boasts a redesigned grille that houses in a revamped bumper. Both the wheel covers and the door guards have been updated as well. The rear end of the Alto 800 remains unchanged, though. As a whole, the hatch looks fresh and should do well for another couple of years or so.
The interior of the Suzuki Alto 800 has also received an update in the form of a dual-tone cabin. The interior still looks simply basic, nothing else. Although a new music system which now comes with Bluetooth connectivity is the latest addition. The hatch has also been equipped with a new speed warning. However, Suzuki has not disclosed the speed at which the warning will beep.
The engine on the Alto 800 is one part that has received a major update. Not only the 796 cc three-cylinder gasoline-fed mill is now Euro 6 compliant but is also a little more powerful than before. This engine is now capable of producing 48 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 69 Nm. Both the power and the torque are up by 1 PS and 1 Nm, respectively. Transmission duties are still handled by a five-speed manual gearbox.
While it is only the Indian market where the 2019 Suzuki Alto 800 has been made available, we expect Suzuki to bring the facelifted hatchback to the Philippines sooner than later.
