Hennessey unleashes 700hp Supercharged H700 Corvette C8

MANILA: The most prominent mid-engine sports automobile in America has been turbocharged by Hennessey, a hypercar and high-performance vehicle manufacturer based in Texas. The regular mid-engined Stingray coupe is propelled to exotic car power and torque levels by the new Hennessey Supercharged H700 Corvette C8 Stingray, which is equipped with a powerful blower and outperforms even the revered 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

A mid-mounted LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine is standard equipment on the eighth-generation Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray coupe. In stock condition, it produces 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque with a naturally aspirated engine. The Texas-based engineering team at Hennessey, however, adds a high-flow centrifugal supercharger, an air induction system with an air-to-water intercooler, and an optional upgraded cat-back exhaust to unlock the American small-block V8's untapped potential.

The 2023 Hennessey Supercharged H700 Corvette has a powerful 708 bhp and 638 lb-ft, a 44 percent boost in horsepower and a 37 percent increase in torque over the factory rating. It also has upgraded high-performance engine software. The H700 supercharged Corvette C8 Stingray has more power than Chevrolet's top-of-the-line C8 Z06, which has a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane crank V8 engine that makes 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft.

Supercharger, intercooler, engine tune, lightweight wheels, cat-back exhaust, and graphics are all included in the MSRP $49,950 Hennessey Supercharged 'H700' Corvette C8 Stingray upgrade kit. The eye-catching vinyl Hennessey Heritage Livery is available in Blue, White, Black, Silver, or Red, while the 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels are available with a Brushed Aluminum, Satin Black, or Graphite finish. For $34,950 MSRP, customers can choose a power-only package that includes simply the supercharger upgrade and warranty. Each package has a plaque with the serial number, the words "Hennessey," and the letters "H700."

The brand-new 5.5 LT6 engine, the most potent naturally aspirated V8 to ever go on sale in a production vehicle, is what makes the 2023 Corvette Z06 unique.

In order to deliver an engaging driving experience, the two characteristics of naturally aspirated engines that were prioritized were engine responsiveness and trackability. To outperform any naturally aspirated production V8 engine ever created, it was decided that an entirely new normally aspirated engine was necessary. The engine can rev to the high rpms required to produce significant power thanks to the brand-new lightweight, flat-plane crank design.

The new flat-plane crankshaft will encourage the driver to rev the engine to an insane 8,600 rpm, creating 670 horsepower. Two years were spent by engineers perfecting a distinct, deep exhaust tone unmatched by any other Corvette ever made.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 has a broad stance which allows accommodation for massive 345-series rear tires and increased ventilation through side air vents. Its front fascia is designed to optimize the cooling needs, including channeling air to a center heat exchanger. It also comes with a unique, reconfigurable rear spoiler with adjustable wickerbill elements that improves high-speed stability and cornering capability on a racetrack. Its 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged aluminum “spider” wheels are the largest wheels a production Corvette has ever had.

The brand-new Z06 is the most track-ready Corvette ever thanks to its unique suspension tuning, which includes Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and six-piston front brakes. In order to increase acceleration, it also receives an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with a "shorter" 5.56 final drive ratio than the Corvette Stingray.
